Our flexibility is enhanced by our dedication to serving our customers and our use of technology. While known for our tables, mobile units and casework, Diversified Woodcrafts, Inc. provides a number of custom solutions at the requests of our customers. Wood furniture is our specialty and quality construction and materials are our tools.
Open-leg Tables:
Solid oak aprons and legs make our tables strong and durable. 13 gauge steel corner braces are locked into apron rails in accurately located grooves and securely fastened with screws. This construction guarantees equal tension on all wood and metal parts. Tops are attached using zinc-coated screws through pocket holes in the apron.
Cabinet Construction:
All exposed cabinet panels are 3/4" thick, 7-ply Red Oak plywood with a 3/4" x 1/4" thick Oak facing. Panels are multiple doweled, and glued to top frame members, intermediate rails and bottoms. Integrally joined parts result in a totally enclosed cabinet.
Drawers:
Drawer sides, back, and sub-front are 1/2" thick, 9-ply Birch plywood. Drawer heads are 3/4" thick, with 1/4” solid oak edging. A glue and dovetailed joint is used to attach the drawer sides to the front and back on all drawers. Drawer bottoms are 1/4" thick painted, high-density fiberboard, set and glued into 1/4" grooves on all four sides.
Drawer Suspension:
All drawer suspension assemblies are rated at 100 pounds minimum. They consist of two steel epoxy coated sections providing a quiet, smooth operation on nylon rollers. Case channels maintain the alignment of the drawer. The drawer is removable without the use of tools. The slides wrap under drawer sides for additional support. All file drawers are equipped with 150 lb. full extension glides.
Lumber:
Northern grown oak, maple and birch are used for table aprons and all framing. The lumber is kiln dried and tempered to a moisture content of 6% that is maintained throughout production.
Plywood:
A-1 Plain and rotary sliced plywood is used for exposed side and back panels. Interior plywood is Grade D rotary sliced.
Glass:
The glass used for framed sliding and swinging doors is 3/16" tempered glass. 1/4" tempered glass is used for unframed sliding doors. Glass used in fume hoods or other hazardous locations will be 7/32" laminated safety float glass.
Drawer and Door Pulls:
Zinc coated steel wire type drawer and door pulls offer a comfortable hand grip, and are securely fastened to doors and drawers. Two pulls are provided on all drawers over 24" long. Flush pulls for sliding doors are satin finish chrome, providing a recessed finger grip.
Hinges:
Stainless steel five knuckle institutional hinges are used for all swinging doors. 2-1/2" long hinges are provided, one (1) pair for doors under 4 ft. in height and 1-1/2 pair on doors over 4 ft. in height. Hinges are mounted with flathead screws, so applied to door and cabinet to withstand a weight load of 200 lbs. minimum.
Locks:
Locks when shown are a National Lock, 5-disc tumbler with heavy duty interchangeable cylinder.
Roller Catches:
Roller catches are used on swinging doors. Catches have two spring-loaded polyethylene rollers and a metal catch. Double doors without locks have a catch on each door. Full height cases have 3-point latching devices.
Leg Shoes:
Leg shoes are provided on all table legs, unless otherwise specified, to conceal leveling device. Shoes are 2-1/2" high and made of pliable, black rubber material
Floor Glides:
Floor glides, where specified for movable open-leg tables, are of a non-skid material at least 1" dia. to prevent indenting composition flooring and have at least a 5/8" height adjustment.
